Kate Mitchell exhibits at The Little Machine’s ‘The Funny Show’
Kate Mitchell’s video work I Am Not A Joke is showing as part of The Little Machine gallery’s ‘The Funny Show’ alongside Craige Andrae, Jazmine Deng, Helium Liu, Andy Petrusevics, and Truc Truong curated by Eleen Duprez and Michael Newall. The collection examines the role of humour in art from social critique to community building. Mitchell’s piece stages a Looney Toons-esque set up of sawing a hole into the ground and falling through, utilising task-based performance art to survey labour, control, and humour.
‘The Funny Show’ is running from 25 July — 22 August at the Little Machine, Adelaide.
