“Energetic Sweepers Linger Even After You Leave” is an artwork that was exhibited as part of Mitchell’s most recent exhibition Chalk Horse titled Working It Out. The work was part of a series of copic ink works that were shown alongside video and installation work that the artist is most well known for.
In this series bush sprites find themselves in mundane settings, decorative vases of flowers depict various scenes and inky green figures demonstrate the movements from the exhibition’s infomercial. The ink seeps through the paper, the viewer only ever seeing the back.
